About Us
About Our Parish
A Catholic community proclaiming the Gospel in the heart of San Bernardino.
Our History
St. Bernardine Parish has served the people of San Bernardino for generations, growing alongside the city it calls home. As part of the Diocese of San Bernardino, our parish has been a place of worship, hospitality, and outreach — a spiritual home for Catholics from many cultural backgrounds.
Our Vision
We, St. Bernardine Parish, under the guidance of our bishop, strive to continue the mission of Jesus in the community. Rooted firmly in our Catholic Tradition and conscious of our belonging to an ever-changing multi-cultural society, we shall use every possible means of communication, motivated by love of God and one another, to impact family, neighborhood and society with the Gospel so that people's lives are filled with hope.
St. Bernardine of Siena
Our patron, St. Bernardine of Siena (1380–1444), was a Franciscan friar and one of the great preachers of his age. Devoted to the Holy Name of Jesus, he traveled across Italy proclaiming the Gospel with simplicity and fervor. He is remembered for his eloquence, his deep love of Christ, and his tireless work for peace among feuding communities — a fitting patron for our diverse parish family. His feast is celebrated on May 20.
